Episode 48 - Arts Everywhere - "Later Life, Creative Life" with Betsy Rosenwald
This is the third in a special series entitled "Later Life, Creative Life", which explores what a creative life looks like in artists ages 60 and up.
If this episode were to have a secondary title, it would be "The Emancipation of Betsy Rosenwald." Betsy's choice of the word "emancipation" profoundly reflects this statement. Based in Saskatoon, Betsy Rosenwald is the 2025 Artist-in-Residence at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, making her the first Jewish artist to hold this prestigious title at the museum. Her latest exhibit, "To Understanding, Through Understanding" (January 29 – May 2, 2026), delves into her exploration of Ukrainian Jewish roots, complementing her longstanding awareness of her Russian Jewish heritage. This exhibit not only deepens her connection to her Jewish heritage but also resonates with her identity in a world marred by increasing antisemitism and political unrest. See links below for many of the female artists mentioned during this conversation.
